Please read these Terms of Service before using TeakReader. By accessing or using the app, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms govern your use of TeakReader, including the mobile app, website, account features, cloud syncing, vocabulary tools, translation features, flashcards, and subscription features. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the app.

2. The Service

TeakReader is a language-learning app that helps you build vocabulary from books, subtitles, dictionary lookups, translations, highlights, comprehension analytics, and spaced-repetition flashcards.

We may change, improve, limit, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service from time to time, including free-tier limits, supported features, and third-party integrations.

3. Accounts and Eligibility

You can use TeakReader and purchase Premium without registering an email, Apple, or Google account. In guest mode, the app creates an anonymous backend identity so reading, uploaded content, saved library items, vocabulary tracking, flashcards, usage limits, and subscription entitlements can work.

Linking an email, Apple, or Google sign-in is optional, but it is recommended if you want to access your saved library, learning progress, and Premium entitlement across supported devices or after a reinstall.

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity that occurs through your linked account or guest session. TeakReader may be used by students and younger learners, but children under 13 should use it only with permission from a parent or guardian.

4. Your Content

You keep ownership of content you upload or import, such as EPUB files, subtitle files, highlights, and learning data. By uploading or importing content, you give TeakReader permission to store, process, analyze, and display that content only as needed to provide app functionality.

You are responsible for ensuring that content you upload, import, or use with the app complies with applicable law and does not violate another party's rights.

5. Subscriptions and Purchases

Premium features may be offered through auto-renewing subscriptions or other in-app purchases. Purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play, not directly by TeakReader. Billing, renewal, cancellation, refunds, and payment methods are handled through the app store where you made the purchase.

Premium purchases may be associated with either a guest app identity or a linked account. Store-managed purchases can usually be restored through the app store, but linking an account is the best way to keep your TeakReader library and learning progress available across supported devices.

You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app or deleting your TeakReader guest data or linked account may not automatically cancel a store-managed subscription.

6. Usage Limits

Free access, whether guest or linked, may include daily usage caps, lifetime upload limits, saved-item limits, or other feature limits. Some limits are enforced as lifetime totals. Deleting an uploaded file or saved item may not reset a lifetime allowance.

We may enforce limits to keep the service reliable, prevent abuse, and support fair use across users.

7. Third-Party Services

TeakReader integrates with third-party services to provide core features. These services may have their own terms and privacy policies.

We are not responsible for third-party services, content, availability, errors, or policies.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

9. Account Deletion

You may delete your guest data or linked account from within the app or request deletion by emailing support@teakreader.com. Account deletion removes or anonymizes your app data within 30 days, except for limited records we must retain for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, subscription records, or enforcement of lifetime limits.

For more detail, see our Privacy Policy and Account Deletion page.

10. Disclaimers

The app is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.

Definitions, translations, CEFR classifications, word-frequency data, and comprehension analytics are provided for learning assistance and may not always be complete or accurate.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TeakReader will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of content, loss of profits, or inability to use the app.

You are responsible for keeping independent copies of any EPUB files, subtitle files, or other content you consider important.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and may notify users through the app or other appropriate means. Continued use of the app after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Contact
